German Schiedmayer Overstrung Concert Upright

A beautiful, previously rebuilt 1920 Schiedmayer, a world renowned maker that used the very finest woods and materials. The piano resided in Howth and was owned by a piano player who had the instrument regularly tuned and serviced. The internal mechanism, known as the 'action' was rebuilt in the 1990's, with hundreds of new wooden parts, felts, buckskins, tapes, springs, and bushings.
Recently we stripped the action again, cleaned and aligned all parts, removed free play in the keys and action, and replaced the keys with new, simulated ivory keys. The strings, bridges, and soundboard were cleaned and the original case was lightly stripped, oiled and waxed. For its great age, the original case in is excellent condition bar a few scars on the sides, and has a rich Rosewood coloured veneer that has stood the test of time and has no sun fade as it was kept out of light. There is a signature on the back of piano, marked 1925, and many other signatures on the inner keys from various tuners who have looked after it over a century.
This Schiedmayer has a full, rounded tone, with presence and volume when required, and is responsive for its great age on account of the rebuild it underwent.
