A mid 1960's Yamaha U1 that has been reconditioned, including new tapes, springs, felts, and hammer heads. The tone is full, rounded, pure sounding, and with clarity throughout the range. Responsive action due to the amount of work completed and capable of keeping up with the player, versatile and dynamic. For its age, it plays and sound like new.
The outer case was restored in 2018 and has some minor wear, which is reflected in the low price, but overall it looks very well. The brass is refurbished, strings recently cleaned, pedals re-padded, keys cleaned and buffed. The dampers are original and they look their age but function perfectly. The new hammer heads even out the sound and will give the piano great longevity. Recently tuned and regulated, stable in Concert Pitch and suited to all levels of player, from beginner to advanced.
